Edibles Definition
Edibles – or cannabis-infused foods – serve as an alternate method for the consumption of cannabis while still achieving a similar result. The effects can vary depending on the amount of edibles eaten and the concentration of THC in any given edible, which makes gauging the expectant effects difficult. Another point of contention is how easy it is to consume large amounts of cannabis edibles; when combined with the relatively slower onset of effects (compared to more traditionally smoked forms of cannabis), users may presume the initially weak effects as a need to consume more and leads to overwhelming effects a couple of hours later. It is often advised to take cannabis edibles in small amounts and wait a couple of hours before consuming more as the absorption of THC through the digestive system is much slower than smoked or vaporized methods. Typically, cannabis edibles are made using highly concentrated levels of THC in the form of hash oil, often making the effects quite powerful.
